In contrast, conventional pre-cast road kerb construction has various shortcomings:

•  Tendency to deteriorate rapidly and quickly exhibit signs of    wear and tear due to weak concrete strength and hollow    structure resulting from lack of compaction

•  High labor cost

•  High maintenance cost within a fast cycle of 5 – 10 years

•  High wastage of material

•  Longer completion times with only 40-90 lin meter completed    in a day

•  Limited kerb profile designs

•  Unattractive designs with the obvious appearance of visible    joints and rough surfaces

•  Difficulties in leveling during construction/ forming of kerbs    as the kerb-block needs to be planted adjusted and    manually placed.
